About British Ice Skating

British Ice Skating is the trading name of the National Ice Skating Association (NISA). Established in 1879, British Ice Skating is a membership association and operates as a company limited by guarantee. British Ice Skating is recognised by the International Skating Union (ISU), the British Olympic Association (BOA), UK Sport and the Home Nation Sports Councils as the National Governing Body (NGB) for the sport of ice skating in the United Kingdom. The Board of British Ice Skating has just recently adopted an exciting new strategy for the development of the sport over the next ten years, and this is a time of great change and opportunity.



  • Provide administration across various programmes and services such as coaching, performance, development, events, safeguarding, test and membership to meet the British Ice Skating operational plan

  • Input data into all British Ice Skating’s computerised and manual systems to maintain accurate information and timeous processing of data across the range of British Ice Skating services and obligations. Systems are manual, Microsoft office suite and bespoke data systems

  • Answer incoming telephone enquiries responding personally or referring calls to appropriate personnel as required while promoting a professional image to all callers

  • Sort and distribute incoming post and manage regular and ad-hoc outgoing mail to ensure the efficient processing of mail 

  • Respond to and follow up enquiries by post, telephone, and e-mail to provide relevant information and advice to correspondents 

  • Process financial payments and maintain financial records accurately and securely in accordance with Standing Financial Instructions

  • Provide data and updates for reporting purposes on a regular and ad hoc basis 8. Undertake any other duties associated with the post.
